Before the new year, Mercurius - the father and son duo band based in Newcastle (UK) featuring vocalist James Brown and guitarist/drummer Paul Brown released their latest single, "Make A Difference", on all streaming platforms. A mix of Radiohead, Muse, Simon & Garfunkel, Foo Fighters, and The Smiths influences their music. They believe that young people have fresh ideas and are not afraid to take risks, which is much needed in today's world. One cool thing to know about them is that they use AI to create their art, often featuring two hooded figures playing guitars. Their latest single, "Make A Difference", is about young people getting a chance to rule the world.
"Make A Difference" song is a great message, fit for the young people who don’t feel like they can give enough to the world. The lyrics echo the sentiment that fresh perspectives and innovative thinking, often associated with youth, hold the key to steering a new course towards a positive change. It’s no wonder to me why critics have been praising the powerful message and the catchy melodies. I would love to hear this song be a little better produced and mixed, but that doesn’t take away from the quality of the song. Mercurius should be proud of the song, and I hope they continue to make music together and I hope for the best for them.
There is hopefully a music video coming for this great single, and I hope it comes out soon so I can be even more inspired. I hope you enjoyed this song as much as I did, and if you did then please follow and like them on all streaming and social media platforms. Thank you for reading this, I truly hope you enjoyed it!
